My name is Amy and I set up MISS PHYSICS to provide tailored tutoring to students requiring extra support with their science and maths GCSEs and A Levels.
I started MISS PHYSICS after experiencing first-hand how varied the educational experience can be in STEM subjects. Often very capable students can struggle to get the lightbulb “aha” moment with challenging concepts - that’s where I step in!
I’m driven to help students become confident in their knowledge and achieve their academic goals. I get to know my students individually, and tailor plans to their needs.
I hold a 1st Class Physics degree from the University of Edinburgh (2019). I spent the last 5 years in the finance industry, where I trained many individuals in data skills, but my heart has always been in science.
I offer classes online (nationwide) and in person (in Sheffield postcodes), as well as offering group classes and revision drop-ins.

Exam board curriculum's
As your tutor, I promise to put every effort into
helping you achieve your academic goals, however ambitious you choose them to be.
In our first session, we will work together to understand how you like to learn, what your knowledge gaps are and what your goal is. Then over a short number of sessions, we will work together to improve your confidence and understanding through a series of targeted classes.
Example sessions:
If you are preparing for your GCSEs or A Levels we might do the following:
Session 1 & 2: Cover the theory and core concepts
Session 3 & 4: Practice answering a range of exam questions together and learning what types of things examiners like to see
Session 5 - the end of a topic: Consolidate key points into 'cheat sheets' you can refer to in your revision
This is an example but every session will be tailored to you based on your needs and feedback.
I have recent experience in higher education, I've achieved top academic grades and I have a passion for guiding others. I chose to become a tutor in order to give students support that I myself benefited from. Tutoring also allows me to keep up to date with the science world.
I have genuine belief that everyone is capable of understanding anything with the right support, and I can be that person to help you. My teaching style is to be led by you. By that I mean we will identify your needs together, and then we work on the topics at hand in a patient and methodical way.
University of Edinburgh First Class Physics Graduate. Specialist in modules covered in A levels e.g. electromagnetism, quantum physics and astrophysics.
Individualised sessions are planned based on your learning style, existing background knowledge and confidence levels.
Learning should not be something you dread! I see it as my absolute priority to make sure you enjoy our sessions and feel a sense of accomplishment every time. Your time is too valuable to waste.
